Child and Youth Mental Health Services

Child and youth mental health services provide specialised support that targets the needs of children and young people.   Identifying issues early and getting the right support for children and young people is important to prevent and reduce the progress of longer-term mental health issues.

Services that recognise the significance of family and social support are particularly important for children and young people.

Children services usually support people between the ages of 0-11 and their families.

Youth services typically provide mental health support for people between the ages of 12-25.
