The power of words - a guide to using appropriate language

The Alcohol and Drug Foundation have published a digital flip book titled “The power of words.” The resource provides an overview of the different terms sometimes used around alcohol and other drug use, which can contribute to stigma and discrimination. Terms such as “substance abuse” rather than “substance use” can have real impacts on treatment experiences of people who use drugs.
