Qld Health Mental Health Services are now tobacco-free

Date
Fri 27 May 2016

From April 4, 2016, Metro North Mental Health took further steps to ensure our Mental Health units are healthier place for everyone.

Mental health services introduced a range of initiatives to help make the environment free from second and third hand smoke, and to reduce the risk of consumers, staff and visitors taking up (or re-commencing) smoking.

All inpatient mental health units within Metro North Hospital and Health Service are now tobacco free.

Consumers may seek support from their GP or community supports to remain smoke free once discharged from Hospital. For more information and directions on the use of NRT please refer to the Smoking Cessation Clinical Pathway, click here

For further information about this change, and for who to talk to, please view the attachment.
