New mental health support for doctors and medical students

03 July, 2020

A new resource is helping to support the mental health of medical practitioners and medical students.

Drs4Drs Support Service offers free, confidential telehealth mental health services 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

The initiative was established by Doctors’ Health Services Limited (DrHS), a subsidiary of the Australian Medical Association (AMA). The service was established with funding from the Medical Board of Australia and the Department of Health to provide health and wellbeing support to medical students and doctors.

Accessing the Drs4Drs Support Service is simple. Doctors and medical students can call 1300 374 377 (1300 DR4 DRS) or visit their website.

A reminder, too, that health workers can access the premium version of the Smiling Mind app, with dedicated resources to support health care workers during the pandemic, at no cost.
