International Overdose Awareness Day originally started in Australia and is now a global event. Thousands of people a year die from a drug overdose. This day aims to:

  • Educate and stimulate discussion on evidence-based overdose prevention
  • Reduce discrimination of drug-related deaths
  • Remember those that have passed or received a permanent injury
  • To understand that every life is valuable
