Consumer and Carer Meeting: Medications, Weight Gain and Diabetes
Mental health medications can reduce mental health symptoms and prevent relapse, but they can also have serious side effects for physical health. For people with mental health conditions, weight gain and increased the risk of diabetes due to medications are important concerns. Join mental health dietitian Mandy-Lee Noble for a fact-based discussion about the side effects of medications and the practical actions mental health consumers can take to make significant improvements to their physical health.
Mandy-Lee Noble is an accredited practising dietitian who specialises in mental health, chronic disease and eating disorders. She is an approachable and realistic dietitian with a holistic approach to health and eating. Mandy-Lee provides dietetic services for Richmond Fellowship Queensland and is completing a Master of Philosophy at QUT researching weight stigma in healthcare.
